A Healthier Way to Create

I saw this video on a friend's blog. (Okay, so we've never actually met, but that's inevitable, and I'm sure when we do finally meet, we will be friends.) Anyway, I wanted to share this video with you because I'm pretty sure watching this has shifted my whole paradigm of the creative process. I know it's on the long side, but when you get a chance, if you have any sort of creative leaning, watch it. I don't know anything about this woman or her book, but what she has to say here is invaluable for approaching the creative process in a healthy way. Enjoy!!

  1. Jesus!!!!!

I mean, uh. Let's try that with a little less cheese sauce...

That's was really great. Definitely think that is a healthier and more honest way to approach creativity. The fact that God has given a gift and it is our job to use it, yet it is still God who makes individual projects glorious or beautiful. Me likey!

  2. Me too! Especially if we can approach it not only in a theoretical and broad sense (every good and perfect gift comes from above...) but also in an actual tangible sense, where God actively engages with the artist in the creative process and co-operates to create something new!

  3. Go into the Podcast section of iTunes and search for "TED". There are a ton of really great videos there that you can watch for free. (By the way, I don't know how this is going to show up, but this is Matt W.)
